2006 Block Party

The annual block party was held this weekend in the northeastern corner of Fox Point Estates. Central Country Fire and Rescue once again graciously provided an escort for the traditional parade while volunteers from the neighborhood manned the barbecue...

The younger kids loved the "bouncy house", as always. Richard manned the snowcone station (almost all day!), which was popular with the kids. Many acquired hairdos to match the frozen treats...

Families from all over Fox Point brought delicious side dishes and desserts, to accompany the brats, burgers, dogs, and sandwiches, providing an opportunity to for all to overindulge. Many engaged in light physical activity (soccer, volleyball, washers, bike riding, and of course, "bouncy house" bouncing) in an effort to excise excess calories...

The evening was capped off with music from the 50's and 60's performed by Suspicious Minds and of course, everyone's favorite, passed-on entertainer, Elvis!

The entertainment lasted well into the night, and the audience was very festive looking, each sporting at least one piece of glow-in-the-dark jewelry. Once again, the coordinators and volunteers provided a great evening of fun and togetherness for one and all.
